The Local Patch (started in 2017) is a market garden focused on growing the highest quality produce using sustainable, organic practices. Healthy, strong, productive plants come from management practices that place an emphasis on soil health. We feed the soil a balance of organic nutrients and compost and in turn, the the soil feeds the crops. With this approach we are not focused on spraying to treat symptoms, nor are we using chemicals to fight weeds. With minimal tillage, our aim is to preserve the soil tilth. We use long handed weeding tools, cover cropping and ground cover where applicable.

In addition to growing for our CSA, we attend the Aquidneck Growers' Market twice a week. We also donate and distribute in bulk to local food banks on the island.

We welcome volunteers and work shares any time throughout the season! Please reach out with any questions.
